Meet the Team

We're Here to Serve!

If you have any questions, we're here to serve. Please feel free to drop by the church and get to know us better.

Chad Tingley - Senior Pastor

Ministry at South

I am honored to serve South as lead pastor. Though I wear many hats, I am most recognizable as the primary communicator of Scripture on most Sundays. I love the challenge of communicating God’s Word and seeing how the Holy Spirit transforms our lives. I work with our elders, staff, and ministry leaders to develop strategies to lead people to become wholly devoted followers of Jesus.

Family? Pets?

God has blessed me with three beautiful ladies; they are the greatest joy of my life. The first lady of my life is my wife Liz. Our lives intersected because of our love for Jesus and calling to serve His Church. Our first-born daughter is our ever energetic and imaginative brown-eyed girl Lyla Mae. Rounding out our family is our outgoing and loving blue-eyed Lexie Kay. In addition to our two girls, we have two hairy boys that we rescued, our dog Raggs and his 70 lb brother Winston.

Hobbies?

In our spare time, Liz and I love to eat! It seems that our plans often revolve around what food we will eat whether that is cooking at home or trying to find our new favorite treat. I also love playing in the pool or building a sandcastle on the beach with Lyla and Lexie. Basketball is another favorite pastime; however, these days I find it is better to watch it instead of playing it. When trying to wind down, one of my favorite shows to binge watch on Netflix is Friday Night Lights - I love Coach Taylor!

Interesting thing to know about me

When I was 17, I drove a beautiful 1981 Chevy Citation into a flooded creek. You’ll have to get the details from me in person.

Dr. Steven Darr - Traditional Worship Leader

Ministry at South

I'm the traditional worship leader for the 9:00 a.m. service at South. Besides leading worship from the piano each Sunday morning, I also direct the choir and manage the church's two large musical productions presented yearly to the community. In my other life, I am the Vice President and Chief Academic Officer at Warner University.

Family/ Pets

My wife, Joyce, and I have been married for 40 years. We have two grown children and four grandchildren. Our son raises English Bulldogs and our daughter teaches math at Bok Academy.

Hobbies?

I love to garden - flowering trees and shrubs. I grew up on a farm in Ohio. Even though I know I don't look like a farmer, there is still a little "farm blood" in me! I love summertime because I get to mow my yard every four days!

Interesting thing to know about me

In my younger days, I showed Herfords in the country fair and one year won Reserve Grand Champion. Additionally, I was an agricultural tour guide at the Ohio State Fair.

Rodney Dallas - Contemporary Worship Leader

Ministry at South

I'm the worship leader for the contemporary Sunday service at 11:00 a.m. I coordinate the music, theme, and other elements of that service.  I also work at Warner University as the Director of Residential Life.

Family/ Pets

I have a beautiful wife, Maggie, and two wonderful children, Hannah, who is 9, and Josiah, who is 8. Maggie works in Accounts Receivable for the Omni Resort.

Hobbies?

I like to cook and trying new things in the kitchen. I also like to spend time with family and friends. I especially love to go on dates with Maggie. And last, but certainly not least, I love to sing!

Interesting thing to know about me

At one point in my life I was close to auditioning for American Idol. I drove down to Miami to do it...chickened out, turned around and went home!

Anthony Jenkins - Facilities Manager

Ministry at South

I'm the facilities manager, and you could say I'm the guy who makes sure everything is working... literally. I cook, construct, garden,  tell a few jokes, and if the moment demands it, call on my EMT training to save a life. The collection of hats that I wear is extensive!

Family/ Pets

My wife Theresa is a nurse at Lake Wales and I have three sons - Zach, 24, who is an assistant football coach at Wittenburg University, Josh, a junior (and quarterback!) at Frostproof High, and Nathan, who is moving into 7th grade.

Hobbies?

Sports. Football, NASCAR, fishing...and more sports. Need I say more?

Interesting thing to know about me

I had the privilege and joy of delivering 5 babies when I was working as an EMT!

Paula Dwyer - Office Manager
paula@slwcog.com

Ministry at South

I'm the utility player. I manage the office administration - everything from communications to calendar  - whatever hat I need to wear that day. Like Joseph's coat of many colors, my role is a kaleidoscope!

Family/ Pets

My husband, Tim keeps students thinking at Warner University as a Professor in the Ministry Department. We have 2 wonderful children, Peter and Philip, and our adorable grandson Hudson. We also have our very special Husky, Dakota, who keeps a close eye on us.

Hobbies?

There's a long list - exercise of all kinds, reading, watercolor painting, photography, fiction writing - let's just say I like to keep learning!

Interesting thing to know about me

I"ve written a mystery novel that takes place in Scotland, which I would love to get published one of these days.
